Description
Isopterygium nematosum (also called 'Hairy-stemmed Isopterygium', among many other common names) is a small, perennial, evergreen fern that is native to tropical and subtropical regions of the world. It has a creeping rhizome and small, round, glossy fronds. It grows in moist, shady places, such as in the understory of forests.
Cultivation and Propagation
Isopterygium nematosum can be propagated by division of the rhizome or by seed. It prefers moist, well-drained soils in full sun to partial shade. It is drought tolerant and can be grown in a variety of soils, from sandy to clay. It is best to water the plant regularly and fertilize it with a balanced fertilizer once a month during the growing season.
