Description
Drypetes bathiei (also called Bathie's Drypetes, among many other common names) is a small evergreen tree native to tropical Africa. It has small, white, star-shaped flowers and long, slender leaves that are covered with glandular hairs. It grows in moist, shady habitats such as wet meadows, marshes, and bogs.
Cultivation and Propagation
Drypetes bathiei is a slow-growing, evergreen tree that can reach up to 10 m in height. It prefers moist, well-drained soils and partial shade. Propagation is by seed or cuttings. Seeds should be sown in a well-drained soil mix and kept moist until germination. Cuttings should be taken in late spring or early summer and rooted in a well-drained potting mix.
