Description
Stipa longiplumosa (also called Long-Plumed Needle-and-Thread Grass, among many other common names) is a perennial grass native to the western United States. It has a tuft of narrow, stiff, needle-like leaves and a flowering stem that can reach up to 4 feet in height. It prefers dry, sandy soils and is commonly found in prairies, meadows, and open woodlands.
