Stipa iranica (also called Iranian Needlegrass, among many other common names) is a perennial grass native to Iran. It has thin, narrow, light green leaves and grows in clumps up to 3 feet tall. It is found in dry, sandy soils and is often used as an ornamental grass.

Uses & Benefits

Stipa iranica is used as an ornamental grass in landscaping, as a forage grass for livestock, and as an erosion control and soil stabilizer.
