Description

Stipa iberica (also called Iberian Needle-and-Thread Grass, among many other common names) is a perennial grass native to the western United States. It has a tuft of narrow, stiff, needle-like leaves and a flowering stem that can reach up to 4 feet in height. It prefers dry, sandy soils and is commonly found in prairies, meadows, and open woodlands.

Uses & Benefits

Stipa iberica is used as an ornamental grass in landscaping, as a forage grass for livestock, and as an erosion control and soil stabilizer.
