Description
Sporobolus compactus (also called Compact Dropseed, among many other common names) is a perennial grass native to North America. It grows in a variety of habitats, including prairies, grasslands, and open woodlands. Its leaves are narrow and pointed, and its flowers are small and greenish-brown. It is a low-growing grass, reaching a height of up to 1 foot.
Uses & Benefits
Sporobolus compactus is used as an ornamental grass in landscaping and is also used for erosion control and as a soil stabilizer.

Cultivation and Propagation
