Description
Schizostachyum jaculans (also called Jaculans Bamboo, among many other common names) is a species of bamboo native to India, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Sri Lanka. It is a tall, evergreen, clump-forming bamboo with arching culms and long, thin leaves. It is found in tropical and subtropical forests, as well as in disturbed areas.
Uses & Benefits
Schizostachyum jaculans is used as an ornamental plant, for fuel, and for making furniture, flooring, and other wood products. The leaves can be used as fodder for livestock, and the plant can be used for soil conservation.
