Description

Schizostachyum brachycladum (also called short-clad bamboo, among many other common names) is a species of bamboo native to Southeast Asia. It is a clump-forming bamboo with culms that are up to 4 m tall and 2 cm in diameter. It is found in tropical and subtropical moist lowland forests, as well as in wet mountain forests.

Schizostachyum brachycladum is a tropical grass that is native to India, Sri Lanka, and Myanmar. It is a clump-forming grass that grows up to 4 feet tall and has narrow, arching leaves. It is best grown in full sun to partial shade in moist, well-drained soil. Propagation is by division or seed. Seeds should be sown in spring in a warm, sunny location and lightly covered with soil. The seedlings should be thinned to 12 inches apart when they are 4 inches tall.
