Schizachyrium platyphyllum (also called Slender Sandgrass, among many other common names) is a perennial grass native to North America. It grows in clumps and can reach up to 3 feet in height. Its leaves are narrow and have a purple tinge. It is found in dry, sandy soils and is tolerant of drought and heat.
