Description
Sasamorpha oshidensis (also called Oshide bamboo, among many other common names) is a species of bamboo native to Japan. It is a perennial grass, growing to a height of 1–2 m. The culms are greenish yellow to yellowish brown, and are round in cross-section. It is found in moist forests, thickets, and along streams, at altitudes of 0–1,400 m.
Uses & Benefits
Sasamorpha oshidensis is used as a groundcover in landscaping and as a windbreak. It has also been used for erosion control and for medicinal purposes.
