Description

Sasamorpha borealis (also called Northern bamboo, among many other common names) is a species of bamboo native to Japan. It is a perennial grass, growing to a height of 1–2 m. The culms are greenish yellow to yellowish brown, and are round in cross-section. It is found in moist forests, thickets, and along streams, at altitudes of 0–1,400 m.

Uses & Benefits

Sacciolepis rigens is used as an ornamental grass in gardens and landscaping. It is also used as a cover crop to help suppress weeds and improve soil fertility.
