Sasa palmata (also called Palmate bamboo, among many other common names) is a species of bamboo native to Japan. It is a perennial evergreen grass that grows in clumps and has long, slender culms with thin walls. It is found in forests, grasslands, and other habitats at elevations of 600–2,400 m.
