Description
Pseudosasa humilis (also called Dwarf False Bamboo, among many other common names) is a perennial grass native to China. It grows in moist meadows, grasslands, and other moist habitats.
Uses & Benefits
Pseudosasa humilis is a popular ornamental plant, often used to decorate gardens and parks. It is also used as a windbreak and for erosion control.
Flower, Seeds and Seedlings
Pseudosasa humilis has large, blue flowers that have a sweet scent. The seeds are small and black, and the seedlings are thin and dark green.
Cultivation and Propagation
Pseudosasa humilis can be propagated from seed or division. When propagating from seed, the seeds should be sown in a well-draining soil mix and kept moist. Division is best done in the spring or fall. The plant should be carefully dug up and divided into smaller sections, making sure each section has a good root system. The divided sections should be replanted in a well-draining soil mix and kept moist.
