Description
Phyllostachys fimbriligula (also called 'Fimbriata', 'Fimbriata Bamboo' or 'Fimbriata Hedge Bamboo', among many other common names) is a species of bamboo native to China. It is a clumping bamboo with a maximum height of 15 feet and a culm diameter of 1.5 inches. It prefers full sun to partial shade and is hardy in USDA zones 6-10.
Uses & Benefits
Phyllostachys fimbriligula is used as an ornamental plant, for erosion control, and for its edible shoots which are used as a vegetable in Chinese cuisine.

The flower of Phyllostachys fimbriligula is a small, yellowish-green spikelet. The seed is small and round, and the seedlings are thin and upright.
Cultivation and Propagation
Phyllostachys fimbriligula is a fast-growing, clump-forming bamboo that can reach heights of up to 30 feet. It is best grown in full sun to partial shade in moist, well-drained soil. Propagation is by division of established clumps or by seed.
