Description
Pentameris natalensis (also called Natal Pentameris, among many other common names) is a species of flowering plant in the Bromeliaceae family. It is native to Central America, the Caribbean, and northern South America. It is found in tropical and subtropical moist lowland forests.
Uses & Benefits
Pentameris natalensis is used as a traditional medicine to treat fever, malaria, and gastrointestinal disorders. It is also used as an ornamental plant in gardens.

The flower of Pentameris natalensis is a yellowish-green, with a yellowish-green calyx and a yellowish-green corolla. The seed is a small, black, ovoid seed. The seedlings are green and have a short stem with a single pair of leaves.
