Panicum cayennense (also called Cayenne Panicum, among many other common names) is a perennial grass native to Central and South America. It is a tufted grass with erect stems that can reach up to 1.2 m in height. Its leaves are linear and up to 20 cm long. It is found in open grasslands, savannas, and disturbed areas.
