Description

Melocanna baccifera (also called Fire Bamboo, among many other common names) is a species of flowering plant in the grass family, native to India, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Sri Lanka. It is a clumping bamboo, growing to 8–10 m tall, with a culm diameter of 4–5 cm. It prefers moist, shady habitats.
