Description
Festuca modesta (also called Modest Fescue, among many other common names) is a perennial grass native to Europe, Asia and North Africa. It is a tufted grass with a long, narrow leaf blade and long, thin awns. It grows in meadows, pastures, and other grasslands, as well as in sandy soils.

Festuca modesta has small, white flowers with yellow centers. The seeds are small and black, and the seedlings are thin and wiry.
