Description

Elymus tenuispicus (also called Fine-Spiked Wild Rye, among many other common names) is a perennial grass species native to Central Asia and the Caucasus. It grows in sandy and rocky soils, and is often found in steppes, semi-deserts and alpine meadows. It has a tufted habit and can reach up to 1.5 meters in height. Its leaves are flat, narrow and have a fine texture.

Elymus tenuispicus is used as an ornamental plant in gardens and parks. It is also used as a soil stabilizer and erosion control plant.
