Elymus praeruptus (also called Pre-Erupt Wildrye, among many other common names) is a perennial grass native to the western United States and northern Mexico. It typically grows in dry, open areas such as hillsides, meadows, and roadsides, and can reach heights of up to 1.5 meters.
