Description
Elymus pendulinus (also called nodding wildrye, among many other common names) is a perennial grass species native to North America. It has flat, narrow leaves and grows in dry, sandy soils in open woodlands and prairies.
Uses & Benefits
Elymus pendulinus is used as an ornamental grass, for erosion control, and as a food source for livestock.

The flower of Elymus pendulinus is a small, yellowish-green spikelet. The seed is a small, yellowish-brown caryopsis. The seedling has a long, thin stem with long, narrow leaves.
Cultivation and Propagation
Elymus pendulinus is a perennial grass native to Europe and North Africa. It prefers full sun and well-drained soil. Propagation is by seed or division. Seeds should be sown in spring or early summer and should be lightly covered with soil. Division can be done in spring or autumn.
