Description
Elymus laxinodis (also called Slender Wheatgrass, among many other common names) is a perennial grass native to North America. It has an upright, clumping habit with narrow, green leaves and small, yellow-green flowers. It prefers full sun and dry to moist, well-drained soil.
Uses & Benefits
Elymus laxinodis is used as a fodder crop for livestock, as a soil stabilizer, and for erosion control. It is also used as a turf grass in warm climates and is drought tolerant.
Flower, Seeds and Seedlings
Elymus laxinodis has small, yellow-green flowers that appear in clusters. Its seeds are small, dark brown, and oblong in shape. The seedlings are slender and have a light green color.
Cultivation and Propagation
