Deschampsia shumshuensis (also called Shumshu Hairgrass, among many other common names) is a perennial grass species native to the Kuril Islands of Japan. It has narrow, linear leaves and spikelets with two to three flowers. It grows in moist meadows, grasslands, and coastal areas.
