Deschampsia nubigena (also called Cloud Hair Grass, among many other common names) is a perennial grass native to Europe, Asia, and North America. It grows in meadows, grasslands, and other areas with moist soils. It has thin, wiry stems and small, thin leaves. Its flowers are small and spike-like, and range in color from white to purple.
