Flower, Seeds and Seedlings
Deschampsia cordillerarum has small, yellow-green flowers with yellow anthers. Its seeds are small, brown and oval-shaped. The seedlings are small, with oval-shaped leaves.
Cultivation and Propagation
Deschampsia cordillerarum is a perennial grass that prefers moist, well-drained soils in full sun to partial shade. It is tolerant of a wide range of soils, including sandy, loamy, and clay soils. Propagation is best done by division in the spring or by seed. Seeds should be sown in the spring and lightly covered with soil. The seedlings should be thinned to the desired spacing when they are large enough to handle.
