Description

Dendrocalamus peculiaris (also called Peculiar Bamboo, among many other common names) is a species of bamboo native to Southeast Asia. It is an evergreen, clumping bamboo with a thick culm wall. It grows in tropical and subtropical climates in lowland areas. It is found in open forests, along roadsides, and in disturbed habitats.

Uses & Benefits

Dendrocalamus peculiaris is used for making paper and pulp, as well as for weaving mats and baskets. It is also used as a windbreak and for soil conservation.

Cultivation and Propagation
