Description
Dendrocalamus pachystachys (also called Chinese bamboo, among many other common names) is a perennial grass native to China, Japan, and Korea. It grows in moist forests, along streams, and in other wet habitats.

Dendrocalamus pachystachys has small, yellow-green flowers that are clustered in panicles. The seeds are small, oblong and dark brown in color. The seedlings are thin and have a single, upright stem.

Dendrocalamus pachystachys is native to India and is found in the tropical and subtropical regions of the country. It is commonly found in the states of Assam, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, and West Bengal.
