Description
Chimonobambusa opienensis (also called Opienensis Bamboo, among many other common names) is a species of bamboo native to China. It is a clumping bamboo with culms that grow to a height of about 4 m. The culms are green with yellow stripes and have a diameter of about 2 cm. It is found in moist and shady habitats in the provinces of Sichuan, Yunnan and Guizhou.
Uses & Benefits
Chimonobambusa opienensis is a popular ornamental plant and is often used in gardens for its attractive foliage and flowers. It is also used in traditional Chinese medicine to treat various ailments such as fever, headaches, and digestive problems.

Flower: Small, white flowers with yellow anthers. Seed: Small, black seeds. Seedlings: Green, slender shoots.
Cultivation and Propagation
Chimonobambusa opienensis is a clump-forming, evergreen bamboo with arching, bright green culms. It is best grown in moist, humus-rich, well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade. Propagation is by division of the clumps in spring.
