Description
Calamagrostis appressa (also called Appressed Reed, among many other common names) is a perennial grass native to Europe, Asia, and North Africa. It is a tall grass, growing up to 2 m in height, with narrow, flat leaves and small, spike-like flowers. It is commonly found in wet meadows, marshes, and along the banks of streams and rivers.
Cultivation and Propagation
Calamagrostis appressa can be propagated by division or by seed. It prefers full sun and moist, well-drained soil. It can tolerate a wide range of soil types, including clay. It is drought tolerant once established.
