Andropogon macrothrix (also called Big Bluestem, among many other common names) is a perennial grass native to temperate regions of the world. It is a tufted grass with a creeping rhizome root system and grows to a height of 1-2 m. It is found in open woodlands, grasslands, and along roadsides.
