Plantago annua (also called Annual Plantain, among many other common names) is a species of flowering plant in the family Plantaginaceae. It is native to Europe and North Africa. It is an evergreen, herbaceous plant, growing up to 30 cm tall. Its leaves are simple, alternate, and lanceolate in shape. It is found in dry, open areas, such as grasslands and scrublands.
