Description

Penstemon abietinus (also called Spruce-leaved Penstemon, among many other common names) is a perennial herb that grows to a height of about 0.5 m. It has a single stem and a basal rosette of leaves. The flowers are white or pinkish in color and are borne in a dense spike. It is native to western North America, from British Columbia to California, and grows in moist meadows and open woods.

Penstemon abietinus is used as an ornamental plant in gardens and is also used in dryland restoration projects. It is drought tolerant and can be used as a ground cover.
