Description
Plagiothecium shevockii (also called 'Shevock's Plagiothecium', among many other common names) is a species of moss in the family Plagiotheciaceae. It is native to the Northern Hemisphere, and is found in North America, Europe, and Asia. It typically grows in wet, shady places, such as in moist forests, and on the banks of streams and rivers.
Flower, Seeds and Seedlings
Plagiothecium shevockii has small, yellow-green flowers with four petals. Its seeds are small and black. The seedlings are small and have a single, heart-shaped leaf.
Cultivation and Propagation
Plagiothecium shevockii can be propagated by division of the plant or by spores. It prefers moist, shady areas and can be grown in a pot or in the ground. It needs to be kept moist and should be fertilized regularly. It is also important to keep the soil pH between 5.5 and 6.5.
