Piper phalangense (also called Phalangense Pepper, among many other common names) is an evergreen shrub native to the subtropical and tropical regions of South America. It grows to a height of up to 2 m and has a dense, bushy crown. The leaves are ovate, leathery and dark green in color. It prefers moist, well-drained soils and is often found in humid forests.
