Description
Sesamum parviflorum (also called Small-flowered Sesame, among many other common names) is a small, evergreen shrub with leathery, glossy, dark green leaves and white, bell-shaped flowers. It is native to the western United States and is found in dry, sandy, and rocky soils in open woods, heaths, and mountains.
Cultivation and Propagation
Sesamum parviflorum can be propagated by seed or stem cuttings. Seeds should be planted in spring or early summer. Stem cuttings should be taken in spring or summer. Place the cuttings in a warm, humid environment with indirect sunlight. Keep the soil moist and mist the leaves regularly. The cuttings should root in about 6-8 weeks. Once the cuttings have rooted, transplant them into individual pots.
