Description

Oncidium macrobulbon (also called Large-bulbed Oncidium, among many other common names) is a species of orchid native to Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Venezuela. It is found in tropical and subtropical moist montane forests, at elevations of 1,200–2,000 m. It has a short stem with a single leaf and a spike of several yellow flowers.

Oncidium macrobulbon is used as an ornamental plant in gardens and as a cut flower for floral arrangements. It is also used to make perfumes and essential oils.
