Habenaria velutina (also called 'Velvety Rein Orchid', among many other common names) is a terrestrial orchid species native to India, China, and Southeast Asia. It grows in moist, shady forests and grasslands, and is characterized by its large, white flowers with yellow-green lips.
Cultivation and Propagation
Habenaria velutina can be propagated by division of the rhizomes or by seed. It prefers a well-drained soil and should be grown in partial shade. It is best to water the plant regularly and keep the soil moist. Fertilize the plant with a balanced fertilizer every two weeks during the growing season.
