Description
Habenaria gilbertii (also called Gilbert's rein orchid, among many other common names) is a species of orchid native to Mexico, Guatemala, and Honduras. It grows in wet montane forests, usually at elevations of 1,500-2,500 m. It has an erect stem that can reach up to 50 cm in height and has a single, large, white flower.
Cultivation and Propagation
Habenaria gilbertii is a terrestrial orchid native to Mexico. It is best grown in a pot with a well-drained, slightly acidic potting mix. Provide bright light and water regularly, but allow the soil to dry out between waterings. Propagate by division in spring.
