Description
Eulophia rolfeana (also called 'Rolfe's Eulophia', among many other common names) is a terrestrial orchid found in India, Sri Lanka, and the Andaman Islands. It has a single, erect, leafy stem and produces up to 15 white, yellow, or pink flowers. It grows in open grasslands, scrublands, and coastal areas.
Flower, Seeds and Seedlings
Eulophia rolfeana has white flowers with yellow and purple markings, and its seeds are small and black. The seedlings are small, with a single pair of leaves and a single root.
Cultivation and Propagation
Eulophia rolfeana can be propagated by division in spring or autumn. Plant the divisions in a well-drained, humus-rich soil in a sunny or partially shaded position. Water regularly during the growing season and keep the soil moist but not soggy.
