Description
Epidendrum pachyphyllum (also called 'Thick-leaved Reedstem', among many other common names) is an epiphytic orchid species with a sympodial growth habit. It has thin, branching stems with long, narrow leaves and small, yellow-green flowers. It is native to Central and South America, and is found in humid, tropical forests.
Flower, Seeds and Seedlings
Epidendrum pachyphyllum has small, white flowers with yellowish-green sepals and petals. The seeds are small and round, and the seedlings are small and green.
Cultivation and Propagation
Epidendrum pachyphyllum can be propagated by division or by seed. It prefers a warm, humid climate and can be grown in a well-draining soil mix. It should be fertilized regularly and kept in bright, indirect light.
