Description
Epidendrum montis-narae (also called 'Mountain Epidendrum', among many other common names) is a small, epiphytic orchid with a single, erect, cane-like stem, up to 8 inches (20 cm) tall. It is native to Costa Rica and Panama, where it grows in wet montane forests at elevations of 3,000–5,000 feet (900–1,500 m).

Epidendrum montis-narae is used as an ornamental plant in gardens and parks. It is also used as a medicinal plant to treat various ailments such as fever, cold, cough, and headache.
Flower, Seeds and Seedlings
Epidendrum montis-narae has small, white flowers with yellow centers that bloom in the spring. The seed is a small, round, dark brown nut. The seedlings are small and have two to four leaves.
Cultivation and Propagation
Epidendrum montis-narae is a slow-growing, evergreen epiphyte that can reach up to 1 m (3 ft) in height. It prefers partial shade and well-drained, slightly acidic soil. Propagation is by division or stem cuttings.
