Cultivation and Propagation
Epidendrum melanoporphyreum is an epiphytic orchid that grows in tropical climates. It prefers partial shade and moist, well-draining soil. Propagation is best done through division of the rhizomes. The divisions should be planted in a moist, well-draining medium and kept in a warm, humid environment until they have rooted.
