Description
Epidendrum megagastrium (also called Large-Stomach Epidendrum, among many other common names) is an epiphytic orchid species native to Colombia and Ecuador. It has a short, creeping rhizome and produces long, thin, arching stems with many small, oblong, leathery leaves. The inflorescence is a terminal raceme with many fragrant, yellow-green flowers.
Cultivation and Propagation
Epidendrum megagastrium is a terrestrial orchid native to Colombia. It can be propagated by division of the rhizomes or by seed. It prefers a warm, humid climate and should be grown in a well-draining, humus-rich soil. It should be kept in partial shade and watered regularly.
