Description

Cynorkis debilis (also called 'Fairy Orchid', among many other common names) is a terrestrial orchid species found in Madagascar. It has an erect stem with a single leaf and a single flower. It is found in humid forests, grasslands and scrublands at elevations of up to 1,500 m.

Cynorkis debilis is used in traditional medicine for treating skin diseases, as an antispasmodic, and as a diuretic. It is also used as an ornamental plant in gardens.
