Description
Cleisostoma chantaburiense (also called Chantaburi Cleisostoma, among many other common names) is a perennial orchid species native to Southeast Asia. It is an epiphytic orchid with long, narrow leaves and long, spiny pseudobulbs. It is found in wetland habitats, such as riverbanks, marshes, and swamps.
Flower, Seeds and Seedlings
Cleisostoma chantaburiense has white flowers with yellowish-green throats and a long, curved spur. The seeds are small, round and black. The seedlings are small and have narrow, lance-shaped leaves.
Cultivation and Propagation
Cleisostoma chantaburiense is a fast-growing epiphytic orchid that can be propagated from cuttings or division. It prefers bright, indirect light and moist, well-drained soil. It is drought tolerant and can tolerate temperatures down to 10°C (50°F). It can be pruned to keep it at a desired height.
