Description
Catasetum franchinianum (also called Catasetum Franchinii, among many other common names) is a species of orchid native to South America. It has long, fleshy, green leaves and produces fragrant, yellow-green flowers. It grows in humid forests and is found in Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Venezuela.
Flower, Seeds and Seedlings
Catasetum franchinianum has large, white flowers with a diameter of about 6 cm. The seeds are small, brown and round. The seedlings have two cotyledons and are about 3 cm tall.
Where to Find Catasetum franchinianum
Catasetum franchinianum is native to Colombia and can be found in the departments of Antioquia, Cauca, and Valle del Cauca.
