Description
Plinia pumila (also called Pumila, among many other common names) is an epiphytic orchid species found in the tropical forests of South America. It has a tall, thin stem with long, narrow leaves and small, white flowers. It is native to Brazil, Peru, Bolivia, and Ecuador, and is found in humid, tropical forests.
Cultivation and Propagation
Plinia pumila can be propagated from seed or cuttings. Seeds should be sown in a well-draining medium and kept moist. Cuttings should be taken from healthy, mature plants and rooted in a moist medium. Both methods require bright, indirect light and temperatures of 65-75°F (18-24°C).
Where to Find Plinia pumila
Plinia pumila is native to the Atlantic Forest biome in Brazil. It can be found in the states of Bahia, Espírito Santo, Minas Gerais, Paraná, Rio de Janeiro, and São Paulo.
