Description

It is an evergreen tree that grows up to 30 m in height and has a spreading canopy. Its leaves are ovate-lanceolate, glossy green, and measure up to 10 cm in length. It is found in tropical and subtropical forests, as well as in disturbed habitats.
Uses & Benefits

Flower, Seeds and Seedlings
Ficus lasiocarpa has small, yellowish-green flowers that are borne in pairs in the leaf axils. The seeds are small, round and black. The seedlings are small and have a single, oval-shaped leaf.
Cultivation and Propagation
Ficus lasiocarpa can be propagated by seed, air layering, or cuttings. Seeds should be sown in a well-draining soil mix and kept moist but not wet. Air layering is done by making a wound in the stem and wrapping it in moist sphagnum moss until roots form. Cuttings should be taken from semi-hardwood and rooted in a moist soil mix. The soil should be kept moist but not wet and the cutting should be kept in bright, indirect light.
