Description
Magnolia venezuelensis (also called Venezuelan Magnolia, among many other common names) is a deciduous tree that grows up to 15 m tall. It is native to Venezuela, where it is found in moist, well-drained soils in mountain forests. It prefers full sun to partial shade.
Cultivation and Propagation
Magnolia venezuelensis can be propagated by seed, cuttings, or layering. Seeds should be sown in spring in a well-drained potting mix, and kept moist. Cuttings should be taken in late spring or early summer and rooted in a moist potting mix. Layering can be done in late spring or early summer, and the rooted cutting should be potted up in a well-drained potting mix.
