Description
Acromastigum rigidum (also called Rigid Acromastigum, among many other common names) is a species of liverwort in the family Lejeuneaceae. It is found in the Neotropics, in the Caribbean, Central America, and South America. It grows in moist, shady habitats, usually on the bark of trees.
Flower, Seeds and Seedlings
Acromastigum rigidum has small, yellowish-green flowers that are about 1 cm long. The seeds are small, brown, and round. The seedlings have small, oval-shaped leaves that are dark green in color.
Cultivation and Propagation
Acromastigum rigidum is a small, tufted moss that is found in moist, shady habitats. It is easily propagated by dividing the tufts and can be grown in a variety of soils, from sandy to clay. It prefers an acidic soil and does not tolerate direct sunlight. It can be propagated by spore or by division of the tufts.
